Believe it or not there may be an upside to psoriasis. Some researchers have dicovered that people with psoriasis are more likely to have gene varients that protect them against HIV-1. 

Scientists looked at more than 1,700 psoriasis patients and nearly 3,600 people who don’t have it. People who have psoriasis were significantly more likely to have the gene variants known to defend against HIV-1 and delay its progression to AIDS.

  1. I wonder if there is a way to modify the psoriasis virus so that it can be used to help people. For example, have it in our bodies but without the symptoms, so that we get the benefits without the disease.
